Collecting Material.
Our history
site contains two links that we hope will inspire
further creations in CardiffSchools.Net. It also
explains the 'Community Archive'.
Our
aim is to help every school assemble its own local
multimedia historical archive and even make this an annual
event.
We
would like pupils to collect, first hand recollections from
their friends, parents and grandparents about life in
Cardiff. These recollections will be mixed with images and
made available via each schools website (if
desired).
We
are also interested in imaginative contributions such a
contemporary TV report of Scotts departure for the Antarctic
or some research on an old newspaper story.
Duplicate
entries are more likely to be avoided if each school
concentrates on its immediate vicinity.
As
an additional incentive the BBC are interested in making six
half hour radio programmes on the content that we
collect. They are also willing to train students (in
radio technique and asking open questions), collect
information and permit access to Broadcasting House,
Llandaff.
We are also hoping to feature contributions on our own
"Pirate" radio station (see http://pirate.cardiffschools.net)
